Wisconsin is home to breathtaking landscapes, expansive waters, eclectic communities and people who care enormously about where they live. Throughout the state's history, individuals and groups have worked hard to take care of the places they love. That's what is at the heart of the Making it Home initiative.

Some of the most passionate, and inspiring, people in our state's history have been inducted into the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame. These are people who have significantly contributed to conservation programs, projects, public understanding, and conservation ethics. Thanks to their work, and the ongoing efforts of people today who continue to care about making Wisconsin a wonderful place, Wisconsin is known nationally as a leader in conservation.
